To hear residents tell the story, murder doesn't happen in Fresno--at least not in the well-heeled suburbs. But the comfort of that municipal myth was shattered on Easter Sunday 1992 when the story of the Ewell family unwound into an Oedipal tragedy. The ambitious son Dana of this wealthy family was eventually charged with masterminding the brutal murders of his father, mother, and sister.
