In the 39th episode of the first season of Chowder, titled "The Apprentice Games," Chowder, Mung, and Shnitzel compete against rival chefs in a series of culinary challenges to determine who will be the next apprentice at the prestigious Marzipan City cooking school. The episode begins with a flashback to when Mung was a young chef competing in the same Apprentice Games and winning first place.
Now, years later, Mung is back to mentor his own apprentice, Chowder, in the Games. The duo is excited to compete but not thrilled when they find out they'll be up against their longtime rival, Endive, and her own apprentice, Panini. The two teams go head-to-head in a series of challenges, including cooking with only one hand, creating a dish blindfolded, and cooking with limited ingredients.
During the challenges, tensions rise between Chowder and Panini as they both struggle to impress their mentors and prove themselves as the best apprentice. The competition becomes even more intense when Mung and Endive are forced to put down their cooking utensils and participate in one of the challenges themselves.
As the final results are tallied, it becomes clear that the outcome of the Games will come down to the final challenge - a cooking competition with no limitations. Chowder and Panini both go all out, creating elaborate and delicious dishes that impress the judges.
In the end, the winner of the Apprentice Games is revealed, and for one team, it means a bright future full of cooking adventures and new challenges await.
