Childrens' Hospital season 2 episode 8 "Hot Enough for You?" starts off with the hospital staff dealing with a heatwave that has taken over the city. Patients are starting to fill up the emergency room with heat-related illnesses, and the hospital's air conditioning system seems to be on the verge of giving out.
Dr. Blake Downs (Rob Corddry) is seen trying out a new experimental treatment on himself to cool down. He claims he's been wanting to try it out for a while, and the heatwave provided the perfect opportunity. Meanwhile, Nurse Dori (Zandy Hartig) is struggling to keep up with the influx of patients and seems to be feeling the effects of the heat more than the rest of the hospital staff.
Elsewhere, Dr. Owen Maestro (Rob Huebel) and Dr. Glenn Richie (Ken Marino) are seen competing in a game of "who can go the longest without using their air conditioning." Dr. Cat Black (Lake Bell), on the other hand, is seen trying to cool off in a kiddie pool filled with ice.
As the day wears on, the hospital's air conditioning finally shuts down completely, and the staff is left with no choice but to try and keep their patients cool using various makeshift methods. This includes creating a giant fan from a helicopter propeller and bringing in a truck full of ice to try and lower the temperature in the hospital.
The episode ends with the hospital staff finally succumbing to the heat and deciding to head to the beach to cool off. Dr. Blake Downs, however, decides to stay behind and continue trying out his experimental treatment.
Overall, "Hot Enough for You?" is a fun and comedic episode that showcases the hospital staff's ability to improvise and work together in the face of adversity. It's also a great example of the show's ability to take a simple concept (a heatwave) and turn it into a hilarious and entertaining episode.
