After a winter hiatus, the thrilling Chicago PD returns with the 13th episode of season 7 - "I Was Here." In this episode, we see the Intelligence Unit facing one of their toughest cases yet as they investigate a string of robberies that turn deadly.
The episode opens with the team at a crime scene of a pawn shop robbery gone wrong. A young girl, who was in the shop with her father, is shot and left paralyzed. The team quickly realizes that there have been several other similar robberies across the city, and they suspect that the same group is responsible for all of them.
As they investigate further, they discover that these are not random robberies - the group is specifically targeting pawn shops that stock antique jewelry and watches. They track down a suspect but he refuses to cooperate, leaving them with no leads.
Meanwhile, Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) is struggling to accept the reality of his situation after he was brutally beaten by a group of cops for trying to expose their corrupt behavior in the previous episode. He initially refuses to take time off work to recover, but soon realizes that he needs the time to heal both physically and mentally. His partner Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) offers his support and encouragement, but Atwater remains hesitant.
Back to the main case, the team finally gets a break when they manage to identify the leader of the group as a former military explosives expert. They begin to close in on him, but things take a dangerous turn when they discover that the group is planning to hit a high-end jewelry store in the heart of the city.
The team springs into action, and a tense and thrilling showdown ensues at the jewelry store as they try to stop the robbery from happening. The stakes are high as innocent lives are at risk, and the team soon realizes that they might not be able to stop the robbery in time.
Overall, "I Was Here" is an intense and action-packed episode that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The case is particularly challenging as it involves sophisticated and skilled criminals who are not afraid to use violence to achieve their goals. At the same time, we see Atwater struggling with his trauma and the effects of the corruption he witnessed, which adds a layer of depth and emotion to the episode. As always, the incredible acting and chemistry of the cast make this episode a must-watch for fans of the show.
