When a young child is abducted from a playground in broad daylight, the Intelligence Unit is called on to investigate. With time ticking away, Voight and the team race to search for any clues that might lead them to the missing child before it's too late.
But things quickly become complicated when they discover that the child's parents are undocumented immigrants, and fear of deportation is preventing them from fully cooperating with the police. Voight and his team must learn to work alongside Immigration and Customs Enforcement as they navigate the delicate political landscape that surrounds the case.
Meanwhile, Burgess and Roman find themselves at odds over how best to handle a civilian who has become involved in the investigation. As the stakes continue to rise and tensions flare within the unit, the question remains: what do you do when the rules are constantly changing and there are no easy answers?
As the investigation continues, the Intelligence Unit begins to uncover a web of deception and corruption that reaches far beyond the missing child's family. With the safety of the child at stake and their own careers on the line, Voight and the team must make some tough decisions in order to bring the perpetrator to justice.
