In Chicago PD season 1 episode 3, titled "Chin Check," tensions are running high as the Intelligence Unit investigates a series of murders in Chinatown. With the community on edge and the media portraying the police as insensitive to the needs of the neighborhood, the team has to balance their duty to solve the case with their obligation to earn the trust of the Asian-American community.
While conducting interviews and gathering evidence, Detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) and Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) come across a witness who claims to have seen a suspicious individual leaving one of the crime scenes. But when the team brings the man in for questioning, they discover he has a connection to a rival gang and may be withholding information.
Meanwhile, Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and Detective Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) work to track down a missing witness who could help solve the case. But when they discover the witness is a young girl who has been forced into sex trafficking, they realize they must act quickly to save her from harm.
As the investigation heats up, tensions within the Intelligence Unit begin to rise. Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) clash over their differing approaches to the case, while Voight and Lindsay struggle to navigate their complicated relationship.
With time running out and the stakes higher than ever, the team must work together to uncover the truth behind the murders and bring the killer to justice. But as secrets are revealed and loyalties tested, they may find that the greatest threat comes not from the outside world, but from within their own ranks.
Filled with pulse-pounding action, emotional drama, and edge-of-your-seat suspense, "Chin Check" is a gripping episode that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
