Cheyenne season 2 episode 5, titled "The Law Man," follows the titular character, Cheyenne Bodie (played by Clint Walker), as he comes to the aid of a small town called Black Rock. The town is being terrorized by a group of bandits led by a man named Sam Barton (played by Harry Lauter). The townspeople are hopeless and fearful, and the local sheriff, Webb Martin (played by Lee Van Cleef), seems to be in cahoots with the bandits.

Cheyenne arrives in Black Rock and is immediately met with suspicion and hostility from the townspeople, who have grown used to living in fear and have lost faith in anyone who claims to be able to help them. But Cheyenne is determined to bring justice to Black Rock. He starts by confronting the sheriff and trying to convince him to do his job and protect the town. When that fails, Cheyenne decides to take matters into his own hands.

Cheyenne begins to investigate the bandits and their activities, hoping to find a way to stop them. He befriends a young boy named Joey (played by Robert Blake), who is the son of a local woman who was killed by the bandits. Joey is tough and fearless, and he helps Cheyenne in his pursuit of justice.

As Cheyenne gets closer to uncovering the truth about the bandits, he realizes that they have a bigger agenda than just robbing the town. They are planning a much larger heist and are using Black Rock as a base of operations. Cheyenne knows that he needs to act fast if he is going to stop them and save the town.

In the final showdown, Cheyenne and the bandits face off in a high-stakes gunfight. Cheyenne proves that he is a force to be reckoned with and takes down the bandits one by one. The people of Black Rock are grateful to Cheyenne for saving their town, and they finally understand the importance of having a lawman who is willing to stand up to injustice.

Overall, "The Law Man" is a classic Western episode that explores themes of justice, fear, and community. Clint Walker gives a strong performance as Cheyenne, and the supporting cast does an excellent job of bringing the town of Black Rock to life. The episode is action-packed and suspenseful, with a satisfying conclusion that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
