Upon receiving news of the death of his friend, Cheyenne travels to the town of Trinidad. Once there, he discovers that a local mining tycoon, Burke, is using his wealth and influence to cheat miners out of their rightful wages. When Cheyenne confronts Burke, the two engage in a high-stakes card game, with the winner being granted control of the mines. However, when Burke suddenly dies during the game, Cheyenne finds himself suspected of murder and must prove his innocence while also uncovering the true culprit behind Burke's death.
