The authorities have received a tip-off about Cordova's whereabouts, and they are determined to capture him. Cheyenne tries to convince the authorities of Cordova's innocence, but they refuse to believe him. Cheyenne must come up with a plan to save Cordova from being handed over to the Mexican army.

Throughout "Border Showdown," viewers are treated to all the elements that make Cheyenne a great show. There are plenty of gunfights, chases, and showdowns to keep the audience engaged. At the same time, the episode also explores the complex relationship between the United States and Mexico during the mid-1800s.
