In Cheers season 7 episode 22, titled "The Visiting Lecher," the gang at Cheers is enthralled by the arrival of an Englishman named Robin Colcord. He is wealthy and charming, but it's soon revealed that he's a lecher who is only interested in women for their physical appearance.
Diane is particularly enchanted by Robin, but he quickly loses interest in her once he realizes she won't sleep with him. Meanwhile, Sam becomes jealous of Robin's popularity and tries to prove that he's just as much of a ladies' man. However, his scheme results in him being slapped by Carla.
Norm and Cliff, meanwhile, get into a disagreement over whether or not Robin really is a lecher. This leads to a hilarious debate between the two of them, as they try to convince each other of their respective points of view.
Throughout the episode, the gang at Cheers tries to navigate Robin's presence and keep him from causing too much trouble. Eventually, they all come together to put him in his place, and he's forced to move on from the bar.
In addition to the hilarious antics of the regular Cheers characters, "The Visiting Lecher" features standout performances from guest stars Keene Curtis and Roger Rees. The episode is a perfect example of why Cheers was one of the most beloved sitcoms of the 1980s and early 1990s, with its sharp writing, relatable characters, and impeccable comedic timing.
