Sam falls head over heels for the Bruins' new player, Janet Eldridge, who also happens to be a goalie. He instantly becomes obsessed with her and spends all his time at the bar talking about her. Meanwhile, Janet is dealing with her own issues, as the team owner's wife is constantly hitting on her and making her feel uncomfortable.
As Sam continues to pursue Janet, Diane becomes jealous and tries to warn Sam that Janet is just using him for his fame and status as a former athlete. However, Sam refuses to listen and becomes even more determined to win Janet over.
Meanwhile, Carla is dealing with her own relationship issues as she struggles with the fact that her husband, Eddie, is cheating on her. She confides in Diane and the two bond over their shared experiences with men.
As the episode progresses, tensions build between Janet and her team owner's wife, culminating in a major confrontation at the bar. Sam tries to intervene but only makes things worse, causing Janet to ultimately reject him and pursue a relationship with someone else.
In the end, Carla decides to leave Eddie and start a new chapter in her life, while Sam is left heartbroken and wondering where he went wrong with Janet. The episode ends with a poignant moment between Diane and Sam, as she offers him some much-needed comfort and support.
