Ep 19. Behind Every Great Man

In the Cheers season 3 episode named Behind Every Great Man, the plot revolves around the budding relationship between Diane and Frasier. Meanwhile, Diane and Frasier embark on a road trip to Martha’s Vineyard to attend a psychology conference. Diane expresses her feelings for Frasier, and despite being aware of the consequences, Frasier tells her he feels the same way. The trip culminates in a romantic night spent together, which gets interrupted by Frasier’s wife.

As the episode progresses, Sam finds out about Janet’s sinister intentions and confronts her about it. Eventually, he pulls out of the interview, sacrificing his chance at rekindling his relationship with Janet in the process. Diane is heartbroken when she realizes that she and Frasier can never be together, and Frasier comes to terms with his marriage and the impact of his actions on his wife.
