The Angels are called in to investigate, when Tom Archer, who owns a cab company with his wife Laurie, is badly burned as his cab explodes. Laurie Archer reveals that they have been getting threatening phone calls and someone obviously is trying to put them out of business. Kris takes a job as a waitress across the street from the cab garage. Julie becomes a driver and Kelly, a dispatcher. Two employees, Jake Barnett, ex-con, and Sarge, a shell-shocked hallucinating casualty of World War II, are both under suspicion. It seems Tom Archer had fired Sarge and advised him to go to the V.A. hospital for treatment. Later, Julie's cab catches fire and she and her passenger escape just in time. Jake advises Julie that Sarge's ex-wife was killed by a cab and he is starting the fires to put Tom and Laurie's cab company out of business. The Angels go to Sarge's room, but he escapes through a window, goes up on the roof, and tries to jump to the next building. He misses and is killed. The Angels then find out that Sarge's wife was not killed by a cab. Instead, the woman who Jake lived with was the victim of the accident. Julie takes Jake out in her cab with a tape recorder on -- the others listening -- and gets Jake to admit that he is really the guilty one. He takes off in the cab -- Kris arrives and she and Julie pursue him and trap him at the Los Angeles River. The other Angels praise Julie for her driving expertise and she admits she learned it from an old boyfriend in her neighborhood who drove stolen cars.
