Ep 5. The Egg and Us

In Charles in Charge season 2 episode 5 titled The Egg and Us, Charles tries to help Jamie and Sarah to decorate their own apartment. The episode begins with Charles arriving at work and telling Buddy about his plans to go to the furniture mart and get a TV for the apartment that Jamie and Sarah are moving into. Meanwhile, Jamie is worried that they won't be able to decorate it right. Charles assures her that he has experience in interior decorating and can do a good job.

After their work, Charles takes the girls to the furniture mart, and they start picking out furniture for the apartment. They disagree over every item, but Charles helps them to make a decision that works for them. Later that night, when the furniture arrives, they realize that they've made a mistake. The furniture is too big for the apartment, and they start arguing with each other. Charles steps in to calm them down, and he suggests they create a floor plan.

The next day, Charles goes to his school to get the floor plan that the students made for a design project. Meanwhile, Jamie and Sarah are trying to decorate the apartment. They are struggling to make the right choices, and Charles steps in to help by suggesting they use an egg to create a color scheme. He tells them to select three colors that compliment each other and decorate the room in those colors.

With the help of Charles, Jamie and Sarah choose their colors and start decorating. However, they quickly realize that choosing a color scheme is not enough. They need to learn how to paint, and Charles offers to teach them. After a couple of missteps, they start painting, but the results are not what they expected.

Charles tells them that they need to take a break and go outside, and they agree to take a walk in the park. While they are walking, they see an old man painting in the park. They stop to watch him, and he tells them that he paints because it makes him feel alive. He tells them that painting is not about the result, but the journey.

Inspired by the old man's words, Jamie and Sarah return to their apartment. They start painting with a new perspective and find that with each stroke of the brush, they are becoming more confident. When they finish, they are proud of their work, and Charles praises them for their hard work.

In the end, the apartment looks beautiful, and Jamie and Sarah are grateful for Charles' help. Charles is pleased that he was able to help them decorate their apartment. He tells them that he wants them to be happy in their new home and that he's always there for them. The episode ends with the trio sitting on the couch, watching TV, and enjoying their new home.
