Ep 3. Shmole Island

The trio catches some big waves, performs some comical boogie board stunts, and even tries their hand at kite surfing. They decide to take a rest, and Moke takes it as an opportunity to teach them about the island's environment and the local flora and fauna. The island has a range of beautiful and unique animals and plants that you can't find anywhere else. Chad and JT are fascinated by the various exotic and colorful creatures, like the vibrant green geckos that dart around the jungle. They also learn about the Māmane tree's masting behavior, a native tree that only reproduces every seven years.

However, it turns out that the feast is not quite what they were expecting. The island's people present the duo with a large pot of bubbling, purple gloop, something called "taro stew." Despite their hesitation to try the dish, Chad and JT decide to dive in and become one with the locals. To their surprise, the taro stew is absolutely delicious and, the drink that comes with the stew is the best they ever had.

In the final segment of the show, the dynamic duo is taken to the center of the island. Here they discover the island's biggest secret and a wonder that fully justified the episode's title. Here, at the heart of the island, they find the largest natural hole in the world: Shmole Crater. The view of the hole's edges from the top is breathtaking, with tropical plants and colorful trees poking out from the edge of the circle. Chad and JT are amazed by the awe-inspiring natural beauty of Shmole Island.
