Ep 4. H. Pylori/Antigenic Shift

Cells at Work! season 2 episode 4, titled "H. Pylori/Antigenic Shift," follows the everyday workings of the human body as its cells combat various infections and illnesses.

In this episode, the body is attacked by two separate invaders: the bacteria Helicobacter pylori and a new strain of the flu. The H. pylori bacteria cause inflammation and damage to the stomach lining, leading to the formation of ulcers. Meanwhile, the new flu strain undergoes an antigenic shift, making it almost unrecognizable to the body's immune system.

White blood cell AE3803, also known as "Neutrophil," leads the charge to fight off these invaders alongside Red Blood Cell AE3803 and other immune cells. As they battle the bacteria and flu, they encounter new specialized cells such as plasma cells and memory cells.

Throughout the episode, viewers witness the intricate and coordinated effort of the body's immune system to eliminate these threats and maintain the body's health and well-being.
