In this episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, two history experts and friends, Suzannah Lipscomb and Kate Williams, take on the challenge to find the best antiques and make the most profits. The duo sets off from Stamford in Lincolnshire, England and heads towards the Northamptonshire, where they will visit various antique shops and auction houses.
Starting their journey precariously in a classic 1960s Morris Minor convertible, the ladies are excited for what's in store for their hunt for some antique treasures. Suzannah and Kate share their love for history, politics and royalty, and hope to bring their expertise to find some valuable antiques with some significant history.
First stop on their trip is a beautiful antique store in the centre of Stamford, an enchanting town similar to a film set with stone walls and market squares. Here, Kate is fascinated with an antique patchwork quilt, and meets a shop owner who specializes in old grandeur fireplaces and fireplace accessories. Suzannah shares her surprise when spotting some antique photography plates that are similar to the ones she has in her own possession.
The two historians then head towards Lincolnshire Antiques & Home Furnishings, bought by the current owner, Leanne, three years ago. Here, Suzannah is in her element when she spots a collection of ancient Roman glass vases, while Kate is interested in a 1920s clock and a Victorian lighthouse made out of wood.
Next stop on their trip is the Anthill Trading auction house in Northampton. Here, the ladies meet with antique expert and auctioneer, James, who takes them up to the attic to see some of the more precious antiques collected there. Kate spots a unique piece of antique jewelry, and Suzannah admires an antique Chinese plate.
As per the show's format, the celebrities end their journey by attending an auction and bidding on items to sell at a profit. In this episode, the auction takes place at the Stamford Auction Rooms. Kate places a bid for a beautiful oak cabinet, while Suzannah seeks a piece of antique porcelain art, and later a set of engraved prints. But will these items be enough to turn a profit?
Fans of the show have grown to love the interesting selection of antiques and the exciting challenges, witnessing the celebrities from various backgrounds engrossed in the rich history of the antiques. Season 6 episode 19 featuring Suzannah Lipscomb and Kate Williams shows an excellent display of fun, storytelling and excitement that Celebrity Antiques Road Trip has consistently delivered over the years.
