Ep 16. Mark Radcliffe and Edith Bowman

Mark Radcliffe and Edith Bowman are heading out on the open road in their quest to find the greatest antique treasures in the country. First, they stop at a stunning stately home, where the team is split in two as they browse the antiques and collectables in the auction room. Mark goes for the jugular with some sharp bidding, while Edith decides discretion is the better part of valour.

Next up, they stop sopping in an antiques store to find some new treasures. Mark goes straight for the jewellery while Edith heads for something more homely: a curious wooden barrel. The pair discover the antiquing style of Manchester’s Northern Quarter – but who will come out on top of this round?

For their second shopping pitstop they go to Ruthin Craft Centre in North Wales, where they meet artist and antiques authority Brendan Stuart Burns. After an introduction to artist studio ceramics, wood and metal works, and pure silver cutlery, the group has to pick the best finds to take to auction.

The final auction house is in Stourbridge, West Midlands, where Mark has news of a local famous resident Sir Bernard Lovell. Who of the two leads will have better luck with their finds? It is an episode of some great surprise, entertainment and knowledge to be discovered.
