On Saturday, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and L.A. Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley presented a united front at a press briefing, following reports the mayor had dismissed the chief over her complaints of insufficient resources. While firefighters continue battling the flames ravaging the Los Angeles area, California state officials said there have been at least 40 incidents involving drones, forcing crews to temporarily ground air operations.
