Jesus & Alexis is the fourth episode of the eighth season of the popular MTV show Catfish: The TV Show. Hosted by Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford, this episode tells the story of Jesus, a young man from Texas who has been in a long-distance relationship with Alexis, a girl from California, for over a year. Jesus is convinced that Alexis is the love of his life and wants to move in with her, but he has never met her in person or even spoken to her on the phone. Nev and Kamie are determined to get to the bottom of this mystery and help Jesus find out who Alexis really is.
The episode begins with Jesus explaining his predicament to Nev and Kamie. He shows them screenshots of his conversations with Alexis and tells them about the many times he has tried to video chat with her, only to be turned down or given excuses. Despite these red flags, Jesus remains hopeful and deeply in love with Alexis.
Nev and Kamie start their investigation with a reverse image search of Alexis's profile pictures. They quickly find out that the pictures belong to a different person, a model from California. They also discover that the phone number Alexis has given Jesus leads to a different girl, who denies knowing anything about him. Jesus is devastated by this news and starts to question everything he thought he knew about Alexis.
In an attempt to find out more information, Nev and Kamie reach out to Alexis on social media and ask her to meet them in person. To their surprise, Alexis agrees to meet, but only under certain conditions. She insists on meeting at a public park and wearing a mask to protect her identity. Nev and Kamie agree to these conditions and anxiously await their meeting with Alexis.
When Alexis finally shows up, she is wearing a full mask and refuses to take it off. Nev and Kamie try to talk to her and ask her why she has been lying to Jesus, but she remains elusive and doesn't provide any clear answers. She even claims that she is being stalked by someone who wants to harm her and has forced her to stay anonymous. Nev and Kamie are skeptical of her claims and suspect that Alexis may be hiding something.
In an attempt to get to the bottom of the mystery, Nev and Kamie decide to do some more digging. They reach out to Alexis's alleged stalker and find out that he is actually a friend of hers who has been helping her maintain her anonymity. They also uncover some incriminating evidence that suggests that Alexis may be using Jesus for her own gains.
With this new information in hand, Nev and Kamie confront Alexis once again and demand that she be honest with Jesus. Finally, after much prodding, Alexis reveals her true identity and explains why she had been lying to Jesus all along. The truth is shocking and unexpected, and it leaves Jesus reeling with emotion.
Overall, Jesus & Alexis is a riveting episode of Catfish: The TV Show that showcases the dangers of online relationships and the importance of being honest with oneself and others. With the help of Nev and Kamie, Jesus is able to confront his demons and move on, but the scars of this experience will likely stay with him for a long time.
