Nique & Alice, the 27th episode of season 7 of Catfish: The TV Show, follows the usual format of the show where hosts, Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford help people who need their assistance in finding out the truth about their online relationships. In this episode, the hosts meet Nique, a young mother from Kansas City, who is in a confusing and heartbreaking situation involving her online girlfriend, Alice.

Nique tells Nev and Kamie that she met Alice on a dating website a year ago, and they hit it off immediately. The two developed strong feelings for each other and started dating long-distance. They used to text and call each other frequently and even exchanged intimate pictures. However, Nique has never met Alice in person because Alice always had an excuse not to meet. Nique has been suspicious about Alice's true identity after noticing inconsistencies in their conversations. Moreover, Alice has abruptly cut off communication several times, leading Nique to question whether she's being catfished.

Nev and Kamie start their investigation and discover that Alice is using a fake profile picture. This immediately gets Nique worried as she feels like she has been lied to all along. The hosts try to track down the real Alice but soon realize that she's not an easy person to find. After some digging, they finally come across a woman with the same name and similar interests, who could be the person Nique has been talking to online. They confront this woman, hoping to get some answers and debunk the mystery.

However, the real Alice denies being the person Nique has been communicating with and claims that she doesn't even know Nique. This throws Nique and the hosts into a deep shock as they now need to find out who the imposter is. The hosts go back to the drawing board and try to find more information about Alice's past, and when they do, they're unnerved by the disturbing revelations. Nique finds out that Alice has a dark history and has been lying about everything, including her name, age, and even her gender.

Nev, Kamie, and Nique confront the catfish, who reveals that she's been manipulating Nique and using her for her money. The catfish tells Nique that she needs the money for the gender reassignment surgery, which she was unable to afford. Nique is heartbroken and left feeling betrayed as she feels like she's lost her love, and at the same time, she's been duped out of her money.

Throughout the episode, Nev and Kamie try their best to support Nique while also giving her some hard advice on her relationship with the catfish. Nique is forced to question her judgement and motives, and also come to terms with the fact that she was too naive in the pursuit of love. In the end, Nev, Kamie, and Nique confront Alice and the catfish who both have to answer for their actions.

The 27th episode of season 7 of Catfish: The TV Show, Nique & Alice, is a cautionary tale of how easy it can be for people to fall in love online and how important it is to be cautious when getting into a long-distance relationship. The episode serves as an eye-opener to the dangers of catfishing and the emotional and financial toll it can take on innocent people.
