Caitlyn is a 21-year-old woman who has been dating a man named Kenton for three years, but they have never met in person. They met on a dating app and have been in a long distance relationship ever since. Caitlyn is deeply in love with Kenton and hopes to one day build a life with him.
But Caitlyn's friends and family members are skeptical of Kenton's existence. They have never seen him in person or even spoken to him on the phone. Caitlyn admits that their communication has been limited to texting and video chatting, but she believes that Kenton is the real deal.
Nev and Max are determined to help Caitlyn uncover the truth about Kenton. They start their investigation by looking through his social media profiles and find that they are suspiciously sparse. They are unable to find any photos of Kenton with friends or family members, and his profile picture appears to be a stock image.
The Catfish team decides to track down one of Kenton's friends to get more information about him. They discover that Kenton has been using this friend's photos to catfish Caitlyn. The friend reveals that Kenton is actually a married man with children, and he has been using the fake persona to cheat on his wife.
Nev and Max break the news to Caitlyn, and she is devastated. She had built her entire life around the idea of being with Kenton, and now she is left with nothing. But instead of wallowing in self-pity, Caitlyn decides to confront Kenton and demand answers.
With the help of Nev and Max, Caitlyn sets up a meeting with Kenton in person. When Kenton arrives, Caitlyn confronts him about his lies. Kenton initially tries to deny everything, but ultimately admits to his deception. He apologizes to Caitlyn and promises to come clean with his wife about his infidelity.
Caitlyn is heartbroken but relieved to finally have closure. She says that she is grateful to Nev and Max for helping her uncover the truth and move on with her life. The episode ends with Caitlyn returning home and starting the process of healing from the emotional trauma of being catfished.
