Ep 2. Anthony & Marq

Anthony and Marq have been best friends for years. They even started a business together. But the two have never met in person. Marq has longed for intimacy with Anthony but Anthony has always kept their relationship platonic. Despite Anthony's resistance, Marq has held out hope that the pair could one day become more than friends. Enter Nev and Max, who go on a mission to find out the truth about Anthony's feelings and intentions.

The two hosts start by interviewing Anthony, who lives in Maryland. Anthony explains that he met Marq on the gay dating app Grindr. The two started chatting, eventually exchanging numbers and moving to texting and phone calls. Anthony admires Marq's creativity and is happy to see his best friend doing well with their business. The hosts notice that Anthony seems a bit hesitant about meeting Marq in person, with Nev asking if he's attracted to Marq. Anthony admits that he does find Marq physically attractive, but he's not interested in a romantic relationship.

Next, the hosts fly out to meet Marq in person. Marq, who is based in California, is excited to finally meet his best friend, whom he has never seen in person before. He's also hopeful that Anthony's feelings towards him might have changed. However, when asked about his intentions with Anthony, it becomes clear that Marq has been holding on to unrealistic expectations. He tells the hosts that he's looking for a partner and thinks that Anthony might be that person. Marq also admits that he's sending Anthony explicit pictures of himself, even though Anthony has never reciprocated. Marq says he just wants to show Anthony his body, hinting that he wants to make Anthony more interested in him.

Feeling troubled by Marq's confessions, Nev and Max decide to dig further into Anthony's online activity. They find out that Anthony has three different Instagram accounts and that one of them has been active in the area where Marq is based. The hosts think that Anthony may have been in the area to meet Marq but chickened out at the last minute.

On the day of the big reveal, the hosts bring both Anthony and Marq into the same room for the first time. They play back footage of both men explaining their side of the story and ask them to clarify their feelings towards each other. Anthony takes the floor first, expressing his love and admiration for Marq. However, he tells Marq that he's not looking for a romantic relationship and just wants to maintain their friendship. Marq is disappointed, but takes it in stride. He tells Anthony that he's glad to finally meet him in person and that he values their friendship more than anything else.

Nev and Max then show Anthony proof that he's been in Marq's area, claiming that he was there to see him and not to attend a conference as he had initially said. Anthony tries to come up with excuses, but the hosts press him to explain why he's been holding back. Anthony eventually admits that he's been scared of losing Marq's friendship in the event that he expressed any romantic interest. He also says that he's been nervous to come out as gay to his family and friends, as he's afraid of the potential backlash.

The episode ends with both men agreeing to compromise and build a deeper connection as platonic friends. Marq is satisfied with the new understanding, while Anthony seems to be slowly coming out of his shell and embracing his true self.
