Ep 7. Erika & Jermaine

Erika and Jermaine have been talking online for five years and have never met in person. Erika is in love with Jermaine but feels like she's been putting more into the relationship than he has. Erika has been planning on moving to be with Jermaine and start a family, but he has been evasive about meeting up. She is suspicious that he may not be who he says he is and wants to finally meet him in person to confirm his identity.

Nev and Kamie step in to help Erika find out the truth about Jermaine. They start investigating and find out that several of Jermaine's social media accounts have been deleted and that some of his pictures are linked to other people. They head down to Memphis to meet Erika and help her confront Jermaine.

When they meet Jermaine, he seems to be the man in the pictures but he's hesitant to commit to meeting Erika in person. He tells them that he's been hurt in the past and he's afraid to get too close to someone he's never met. Erika is heartbroken and doesn't know what to believe. There seems to be a genuine connection between them, but Jermaine's hesitancy and secrecy are raising red flags.

Nev and Kamie keep digging and finally find out that there's a shocking reason why Jermaine has been keeping his distance: he's married. Jermaine is in the midst of a divorce and didn't feel like he could be honest with Erika about his situation. When they confront him with this information, he admits to everything and apologizes to Erika.

Erika is understandably devastated but takes some solace in finally getting the truth. She tells Jermaine that she needs time to process everything and figure out where they stand. In the end, Jermaine seems remorseful and genuinely interested in making things work with Erika if she's willing to give him a chance.

As usual, Nev and Kamie provide a safe space for Erika to express her feelings and offer support and guidance throughout the episode. Erika's story serves as a reminder to always be cautious when it comes to online relationships and to trust your instincts if something seems off.
