Motherwolff & David" is the second episode of the tenth season of MTV's popular reality TV series "Catfish: The TV Show". In this episode, the hosts Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford investigate two individuals, Motherwolff and David, who have been in an online relationship for about a year.
The episode begins with Nev and Kamie talking to Motherwolff, who is a young woman living in Las Vegas. She tells them that she met David on a social media site and they hit it off. They have been texting and talking on the phone for the past year, but have never met in person.
Motherwolff seems to be deeply in love with David, but she is worried that he might not be who he says he is. She tells Nev and Kamie that she has never seen a picture of David and that he has been avoiding video calls. She also mentions that David has told her he is in the military and has been stationed in Syria for the past couple of months.
Nev and Kamie immediately sense that something is off and decide to investigate further. They check David's social media profiles but can't find any pictures of him. They also try to contact him but he is not responding. Meanwhile, they take a closer look at Motherwolff's social media profiles and find some discrepancies in her stories.
The hosts then decide to visit Motherwolff in Las Vegas to get to the bottom of things. They sit down with her and ask her some tough questions. Motherwolff admits that she has been keeping secrets from David. She tells Nev and Kamie that she suffers from a rare genetic condition called Marfan syndrome that affects her appearance, and she was afraid that David would reject her if he saw her.
Nev and Kamie empathize with Motherwolff but encourage her to come clean with David. With their help, Motherwolff finally reveals her true appearance to David via a video call. David is shocked at first, but he quickly reassures Motherwolff that he still loves her for who she is.
Nev and Kamie then turn their attention to David, who they suspect might not be telling the whole truth. They investigate his military records and find out that he has never been deployed to Syria. They also discover that he has been lying about his age, his job and even his name.
Nev and Kamie confront David with their findings, and he finally admits the truth. He tells Motherwolff and the hosts that he has been pretending to be someone he is not because he was afraid of rejection. He apologizes for his lies and asks for forgiveness.
Nev and Kamie help Motherwolff and David come to terms with their relationship. They encourage them to be honest with each other and to focus on building a strong emotional connection. In the end, Motherwolff and David decide to continue their online relationship, but they promise to be more open and honest with each other.
