Ep 7. Run for the Border

In Catch A Contractor season 2 episode 7, titled "Run for the Border," host Adam Carolla and his team of experts are on the hunt for a contractor who left a family with an unsafe and unfinished backyard. The homeowners, Qui and Kristen Chau, wanted to create a beautiful outdoor space for their children to play in, but the contractor they hired, Juan De La Cerda, took their money and disappeared without completing the job.

Carolla and his team start the investigation by contacting De La Cerda's former clients and employees. They learn that he has a long history of taking money for jobs and never finishing them, and that he frequently changes his company name to avoid legal trouble.

The team then sets out to track down De La Cerda, starting with his last known address in California. They discover that he has moved across the border to Tijuana, Mexico, where he has set up a new contracting business under a different name. Carolla and his team travel to Tijuana to confront De La Cerda and bring him back to the United States to face the Chau family.

Once they find De La Cerda, Carolla and his team use a ruse to get him to come back to the US with them. They tell him they have a job for him on a reality TV show, and De La Cerda eagerly agrees. However, when they arrive back in California, the Chau family is waiting for De La Cerda, and they confront him about his shoddy workmanship and failure to complete their backyard.

Carolla and his team then work with the Chau family to create a plan to finish the backyard and make it safe for their children to play in. They bring in a new contractor, who works with the family to design a new outdoor space that includes a play area and a barbecue pit. The team also discovers that De La Cerda had failed to obtain the proper permits for the work, and they work with the Chau family to get the necessary paperwork in order.

In the end, the Chau family is thrilled with their new backyard, and they feel a sense of closure now that De La Cerda has been held accountable for his actions. Carolla and his team are proud of the work they did to bring De La Cerda to justice and help the Chau family get the outdoor space they always wanted.
