In season 3 episode 6 of Casual titled "Troubleshooting", viewers are in for another witty and thought-provoking episode of the critically acclaimed dramedy.

This episode focuses on the dynamic between the three main characters, Valerie, Alex, and Laura. Valerie, played by Michaela Watkins, is a recently divorced therapist who is trying to navigate her newly single life. Meanwhile, Alex, played by Tommy Dewey, is a dating app developer who always seems to find himself in complicated relationships. Lastly, Laura, played by Tara Lynne Barr, is Valerie's teenage daughter who is trying to navigate her own adolescent struggles.

At the beginning of the episode, Valerie is struggling with some professional setbacks when she receives an unexpected visit from her ex-husband Drew, played by Zachary Knighton. Drew is a struggling musician who has been bouncing from band to band with little success. He reveals to Valerie that he has a new girlfriend who is also a therapist, and they want Valerie to join them for a "therapy session".

Meanwhile, Alex is in a bit of a slump. He has been seeing a woman named Sarah, played by Maya Erskine, who he met on his dating app. However, their relationship is not progressing the way he wants it to, and he is struggling to figure out why. He turns to his sister Valerie for advice, but her own personal issues are causing her to be less than helpful.

Laura is trying to figure out her own love life as well. She has been seeing a boy named Spencer, played by Rhenzy Feliz, but she is unsure if she actually likes him or if she is just using him to distract herself from her own problems.

As the episode progresses, the characters begin to realize that their personal problems are more interconnected than they had thought. Alex's relationship troubles are a result of his fear of commitment, which is a result of his parents' divorce. Valerie's professional struggles stem from her own insecurity and fear of failure. Laura's uncertainty about her feelings for Spencer is a result of her own insecurities about her sexuality.

The characters come together for a family dinner, where tensions are high and emotions are running rampant. They begin to confront each other about their issues, and while it is initially awkward and uncomfortable, they eventually have a breakthrough. They realize that they have been avoiding their problems instead of confronting them head-on.

Throughout the episode, the writing is sharp and the performances are top-notch. The show continues to tackle heavy topics in a relatable and humorous way. The characters are flawed and complex, which makes their personal journeys all the more compelling.

Overall, "Troubleshooting" is a standout episode of an already phenomenal season. It showcases the show's ability to balance humor and drama while tackling important themes of family, relationships, and self-discovery. Viewers will undoubtedly be left anxiously awaiting the next episode.
