Carol's Second Act is a feel-good comedy television series which aired on CBS starting in 2019. Produced by Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins, the show follows the life of Carol Kenney (Patricia Heaton), a fifty-year-old retired nurse who decides to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.

Carol's Second Act showcases how Carol takes up the challenge of starting a new career as a medical intern at a hospital. Starring alongside Heaton is Ito Aghayere who portrays Dr. Maya Jacobs, the chief resident of the hospital, and Lucas Neff, who plays Dr. Caleb Sommers, a fellow intern. The show's cast also includes Ashley Tisdale as Jenny, Jean-Luc Bilodeau as Daniel, Sabrina Jalees as Lexie, and Kyle MacLachlan as Dr. Steven Frost.

The show is unique in that it takes a humorous yet empathetic look at the challenges of starting over in life. Heaton, who is an Emmy-winning actress, delivers an outstanding performance as she navigates her way through the process of becoming a resident. Her character has to deal with being the oldest intern in the program and having to cope with a much younger group of peers. She also must learn the ropes of working in a hospital, where she is surrounded by doctors who have only ever been doctors.

Aghayere's character, Dr. Maya Jacobs, is Carol's chief resident, and her job is to help Carol and the other interns learn the necessary hands-on techniques of being a doctor. She is initially skeptical of Carol's ability to keep up with the younger doctors, but over time she develops an appreciation for Carol's maturity and wisdom.

Neff's character, Dr. Caleb Sommers, finds himself attracted to Carol despite their age difference. He is portrayed as easy-going and carefree, which is a refreshing contrast to the seriousness of the hospital's atmosphere.

The show also deals with social issues that are prevalent in today's society. It touches on the challenges of balancing work and family life, as well as the struggles that come with being a working mother. Carol's character has to navigate these challenges as she balances her duties as an intern with her responsibilities as a mother.

Overall, Carol's Second Act is an entertaining and humorous show that offers a refreshing perspective on starting over in life. The show's cast delivers exceptional performances, and viewers are sure to find themselves cheering for Carol as she pursues her dreams of becoming a doctor. The show also highlights some of the more serious issues that face people in their middle ages and how they evolve in this phase. It provides a much-needed reminder that it is never too late to pursue your passions and start over in life no matter your age.

Carol's Second Act is a series that ran for 1 seasons (18 episodes) between September 26, 2019 and on CBS
