As the second season of Carl Weber's The Family Business continues, we find the Duncan family struggling to keep their business afloat amidst a new wave of obstacles. Episode 2 opens with patriarch LC (Ernie Hudson) reeling from a surprise visit from an old acquaintance, who has come to settle a score from their past. LC's sons, Junior (Javicia Leslie) and Orlando (Sean Ringgold), are also dealing with their own problems. Junior is trying to balance her family obligations with her growing relationship with rival gang leader Vegas (Nathaniel Martello-White), while Orlando is being pressured by LC to step up and take on more responsibility in the family business.
Meanwhile, LC's sister-in-law, Donna (Valarie Pettiford), is struggling to keep her family together after the recent death of her husband, Duncan family lawyer Delroy. Donna's son, Nevada (Darrin DeWitt Henson), is still reeling from his father's death and is struggling to find his place in the family business. However, a chance encounter with Junior's ex-boyfriend and fellow gang leader, Elijah (Christian Keyes), may offer him a new opportunity.
As LC tries to navigate his old acquaintance's demands, he is also dealing with a new threat to the family's business. Someone has been leaking information to their rival gang, the Zunigas, and LC is determined to find out who the culprit is. The tension between the Duncans and the Zunigas escalates even further when the two sides come face to face at a local nightclub.
As the episode progresses, we get a deeper look into the dynamics within the Duncan family. Although they are fiercely loyal to one another, each member struggles with their own individual challenges. Junior is torn between her loyalty to her family and her growing feelings for Vegas, while Orlando is struggling to prove himself to his father. Nevada is trying to find his place in the family business, and Donna is grappling with the loss of her husband.
Throughout the episode, we see how each member of the Duncan family must work together to overcome the obstacles they are facing - both from outside forces and within their own family. Will they be able to come together and keep their family business alive? Will they be able to overcome the rival gang's threats and find the leak in their own organization? These are just a few of the questions that are left hanging as the episode comes to a close, leaving us eagerly anticipating the next installment of Carl Weber's The Family Business.
