Hank Moody is back in action after last week's disastrous book reading. The episode begins with Hank and Becca out for breakfast, discussing their family issues and Becca's future plans to attend NYU. Meanwhile, Charlie Runkle is facing difficulties in his personal life as his wife Marcy has left him for Stu Beggs, a wealthy Hollywood executive, once again.
As the day progresses, Hank receives an unexpected visit from Karen. She wants to talk about their relationship and see if there is still hope for them to be together. Meanwhile, Hank's agent, Charlie, is struggling to keep his job at the agency as his boss has threatened to fire him if he doesn't bring in a big client.
After a few drinks with Karen, Hank decides to give their relationship another chance. However, things take an unexpected turn when Hank wakes up the next day in bed with a stranger. While trying to unscramble the events of the previous night, Hank realizes that he may have sabotaged his chances with Karen.
As Hank tries to make amends with Karen, Charlie decides to take desperate measures to save his job. He approaches his old pal, Rick Springfield, and convinces him to come on board as a client. However, things don't go as planned when Rick makes an unexpected demand that puts Charlie in an uncomfortable position.
Meanwhile, Marcy is struggling to cope with her new life with Stu. She realizes that Stu's lifestyle is not what she wants, and she misses her old life with Charlie. However, things take a drastic turn when Marcy discovers that she is pregnant with Stu's child.
