Hank Moody finds himself on a wild ride in the Season 4 episode of Californication entitled "Lawyers, Guns and Money." After having spent a night with his ex-girlfriend Abbie Rhodes, who's now a famous film actress, Hank wakes up to find his Porsche gone and his wallet stolen. Desperate to retrieve his belongings, Hank befriends his shady lawyer Lew Ashby, who promises to help him out of his predicament in exchange for a favor.
Meanwhile, Karen and Becca are having a hard time dealing with their new house guest, Marcy's ex-husband Charlie Runkle. Charlie has come back to Los Angeles with the intention of rekindling his romance with Marcy, but he quickly finds himself getting involved with Karen, even as Becca's friend, Tyler, starts to develop a crush on him. As the two women compete for Charlie's affection, tensions begin to rise and old grudges are resurrected.
As Hank sets out on a dangerous mission to retrieve his car and his wallet, he finds himself getting pulled deeper and deeper into Lew's seedy world of drugs, sex, and rock 'n' roll. Along the way, he crosses paths with a host of colorful characters, including a cigar-smoking record exec, a drug-addled rock star, and a group of gun-toting bikers.
As the episode comes to a close, all of the storylines begin to converge in a thrilling climax that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. With its sharp writing, witty dialogue, and unforgettable characters, "Lawyers, Guns and Money" is a standout episode in the already-impressive catalogue of Californication.
