Hank is not handling the news of Karen's engagement very well, and is eagerly searching for distractions. He finds himself attracted to a beautiful and mysterious woman named Dani, who he meets at the gym, and who he immediately realizes is giving him mixed signals. He struggles with the temptation to cheat, knowing it would be a mistake.
Meanwhile, Karen has an interesting day of her own when she goes to a job interview at a high-end cosmetic surgeon's office. The head of the practice, Felicia, offers Karen the job on the spot and Karen is ecstatic. However, when she realizes the catch -- that she'll have to start working at 6AM every day -- she begins to question whether this job is right for her.
On the other side of the gender divide, Charlie is dealing with his own issues. Marcy has just entered rehab and he must deal with the guilt of not supporting her more in the past. He also starts to develop feelings for one of the patients in the rehab facility.
As the episode progresses, Dani continues to draw Hank in, but ultimately proves to be more trouble than she's worth. Karen makes a decision about the job offer, and Charlie gets a surprise during his visit to Marcy at the rehab facility.
The episode is full of witty dialogue and fast-paced storytelling. Hank's internal battle with his desire for Dani showcases the complexities of relationships and human nature. Karen's story is relatable to many viewers who have had to make tough decisions about their careers and work-life balance. Charlie's storyline provides a moment of levity and a touch of romance.
Overall, the episode is a great continuation of the show's exploration of the tangled lives of its characters, and sets the stage for the events to come in the rest of the season.
