Hank spends the episode attempting to reconcile with Karen after his recent fling with Mia, but Karen is still furious with him. Meanwhile, he unexpectedly runs into Meredith, the woman he was caught sleeping with by Karen in the first episode, and she informs him that she's now engaged to Bill, an old acquaintance of Hank's, and invites him to their engagement party.
At the party, Hank also runs into Charlie, who has just been fired by Sue Collini and is wallowing in self-pity. Charlie decides to take Hank's advice and make a move on a woman he's been eyeing all night, but things take a turn when she reveals her interest in a threesome with Charlie and her friend, who both happen to be strippers.
As Hank continues to feel guilty about his affair with Mia, he finds himself drawn to Meredith once again and they end up sleeping together once more. Afterwards, Bill catches Hank sneaking out of their house and punches him. The episode ends with Karen reluctantly agreeing to talk to Hank, but it remains unclear if they will be able to repair their relationship.
"The Devil's Threesome" is a tense and emotionally charged episode that explores the consequences of Hank's actions and his struggle to repair his relationships with the women in his life. The episode features some dramatic moments and unexpected twists, but also manages to inject some dark humor into the proceedings through Charlie's misadventures and his ultimately doomed attempt at a threesome. Overall, it's a strong entry in the series that sets the stage for the remaining episodes of the season.
