Ep 1. Friends

Caillou season 4 episode 1, titled “Friends,” follows the lovable 4-year-old as he navigates making new friends and strengthening existing friendships. The episode begins with Caillou’s excitement over starting a new school year and seeing all his old friends again. He eagerly gets dressed and heads to school, only to find out that some of his friends have moved away and there are new kids in his class.

Feeling a little unsure of himself, Caillou decides to approach a new kid named Leo during recess. They quickly hit it off while playing with blocks, and Caillou is thrilled to have made a new friend. They continue hanging out throughout the day, and even eat lunch together. However, when Caillou sees Leo playing with another group of kids at recess the next day, he starts to feel left out.

Caillou’s Mom encourages him to talk to Leo and explain how he feels, so he does just that. Leo then explains that while he likes playing with Caillou, he also wants to get to know some of the other kids. Caillou realizes that he needs to be brave and open to making new friends too, and decides to join in on a game of tag with Leo and the other kids.

Meanwhile, Caillou’s little sister Rosie is also making new friends. She’s become close with a girl named Nadine, who comes over for a playdate. At first, Caillou is hesitant to let Rosie have all the fun with her new friend, but he eventually realizes how happy it makes his sister and decides to join in on the fun. They all play dress-up together and have a great time.

Towards the end of the episode, Caillou reflects on the joy of having new friends while still cherishing the old ones. He’s proud of himself for being brave enough to approach a new kid at school, and thankful for the support and guidance of his Mom throughout the experience.

The episode ends with Caillou and Leo playing together again, this time with a group of friends. The two boys are beaming with joy, happy to have found new friends while still holding on to the old ones. "Friends" is a heartwarming and relatable episode that shows young viewers the value of being open-minded and kind towards new friendships.
