Ep 2. Chapter 2: Memories

Set in the 1920s in Madrid, Spain, 'Cable Girls' is a drama series that follows four women - Lidia, Marga, Carlota, and Angeles - who work together at the National Telephone Company. The second episode of the first season, titled 'Chapter 2: Memories', takes place after Lidia and Marga's run-in with Carlos, which ended with Lidia hitting him with a bottle. The girls agree on Marga being the one to do it, and she begins to flirt with Carlos when he's brought in to be questioned by the police.

Meanwhile, Lidia's flashbacks introduce us to her first love, Francisco. Francisco is Sofia's husband, and Lidia falls in love with him after he's kind to her while she's sick. Francisco also develops feelings for Lidia, and they begin a secret affair. However, their love is forbidden, and they have to keep their relationship a secret. Eventually, Francisco ends their relationship, but Lidia continues to have feelings for him.

Back in the present day, Marga manages to get information from Carlos, but he later becomes suspicious of her. Lidia then confesses to Marga that she killed Carlos, and Marga helps her dispose of the body. However, Lidia's past haunts her, and she begins to have flashbacks about the night she killed Carlos. The episode ends with Sofia and Eva coming to the National Telephone Company to visit Lidia, and Lidia feeling conflicted and guilty about her secret past with Francisco.

'Chapter 2: Memories' is a compelling episode that delves deeper into the backstory of the show's main character, Lidia. The flashbacks are emotional and well-executed, providing more insight into Lidia's motivations and actions. The present-day storyline is also intriguing, with the girls banding together to help Lidia and Marga's mission to gather information from Carlos. The episode sets up the rest of the season perfectly, with several unanswered questions that leave viewers wanting more.
