When they reach the homunculus, the battle is intense, with the homunculus overpowering them at every turn. In the heat of the moment, Kazuki remembers his promise to Mahiro and suddenly transforms into his Buso Renkin weapon, Sunlight Heart. This transformation shocks both Tokiko and the homunculus, and Kazuki manages to defeat the enemy.
After the battle, Kazuki tells Tokiko about his promise to Mahiro and how he felt compelled to protect someone he cares about. Tokiko finally understands the depth of Kazuki's emotions and admires his strength.
The episode ends with Kazuki back at the hospital, visiting Mahiro. Kazuki tells Mahiro about his battle and how he was able to use his abilities to protect someone. In a touching moment, Mahiro's eyes twitch, hinting that he may be starting to wake up from his coma.
