In the first episode of season 2 of Burgers, Brew & 'Que, titled "Smoked and Stacked," the ever-enthusiastic host Michael Symon takes us on a culinary journey across the state of Pennsylvania. He begins his adventure in the Steel City, Pittsburgh, known for its legendary smoked meats, delicious burgers, and unique brews.

First up on Michael's agenda is a visit to 'Stack'd Burgers and Beer,' a popular local joint serving up some of the best burgers in town. Michael cannot resist the temptation of trying out their 'ham-burger' which is a burger patty made entirely of ham. He is amazed at how the sweet and salty flavors of the juicy ham burger blend together so perfectly.

Next on the list is "Pork & Beans," a historic restaurant that has been serving up delicious slow-cooked barbecue since 1902! Michael declares that one cannot do justice to Pittsburgh's culinary scene without a visit to this iconic eatery. His taste buds are in for a treat as he samples their 'Texas-style smoked brisket' that melts in his mouth and their signature spicy ribs that he admits could convert anyone into a meat lover.

No trip to Pittsburgh would be complete without visiting 'Primanti Brothers,' a family-owned restaurant that has been serving huge sandwiches for over 80 years. Michael heads over to Primanti's to try out their famous 'Pitts-Burger' sandwich, which is a mouth-watering combination of juicy beef, crispy fries, tangy coleslaw, and soft Italian bread. He washes it down with a refreshing local brew on tap.

After his foodie extravaganza in Pittsburgh, Michael heads towards Hershey to conquer his sweet tooth. He visits the historic Hershey Park and rides all the coasters before grabbing a cold beer at "Troegs Brewery" located right outside the park.

As the episode progresses, Michael heads to Millersville, Pennsylvania to visit 'Smokehouse BBQ,' a BBQ joint where everything is cooked in their huge custom-built smoker. He samples their 'stuffed brisket' which is a unique twist on traditional smoked brisket, and raves over the perfectly cooked 'fall-off-the-bone' ribs.

In the final leg of his adventure, Michael travels to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to visit "Rooster Street Butcher." The joint is run by Farmer John and his team who believe in using only locally sourced, ethically raised meats. Michael tries out their lamb sausage, which he claims is one of the best sausages he has ever tasted. He rounds off his experience with their 'Farmers Mignon,' which is their unique take on the filet mignon.

As the episode comes to a close, Michael reflects on his foodie journey and how Pennsylvania has won his heart with its rich culinary heritage. He promises to return to discover more hidden gems across the state.

"Smoked and Stacked" is a delightful episode that takes viewers on an entertaining food tour across some of Pennsylvania's most iconic food joints. Michael Symon's passion and enthusiasm for food are infectious and his ability to weave in the history and culture of each location adds depth to the show. The diverse range of restaurants and cuisines featured in the episode is a testimony to the rich and vibrant food scene that Pennsylvania has to offer.
