Bunnicula season 1 episode 6, titled "Garlicked", revolves around Bunnicula, the vampire rabbit, and his friends Chester and Harold. The episode starts with Harold being convinced that his favorite treat, peanut butter, has been cursed by a witch. He refuses to eat it, and Bunnicula takes advantage of this and eats all the peanut butter he can find.
Meanwhile, a new neighbor moves in next door to the gang's apartment building. The new neighbor, Mrs. Varney, introduces herself and offers the three friends a clove of garlic each as a gesture of goodwill. She tells them that the garlic is highly valuable and was grown in her special garden. However, she warns them that they must keep the garlic away from vampires like Bunnicula. Harold and Chester scoff at the idea of vampires but decide to play along with Mrs. Varney's instructions to humor her.
At nightfall, Bunnicula suddenly becomes intensely interested in the garlic that Harold and Chester are trying to hide from him. The trio concludes that Bunnicula must be a vampire after all and that the garlic is proof. They decide to conduct a test to see if Bunnicula is afraid of the garlic. The test involves putting Bunnicula in a room with a piece of garlic and seeing how he reacts.
To their surprise, Bunnicula isn't scared of garlic at all. They are confused until they remember that vampires are supposed to be scared of garlic. Harold and Chester conclude that Bunnicula must not be a traditional vampire, and perhaps he is a new kind of vampire.
As the three friends continue their investigation, they try to figure out how to make the garlic useful. They remember that garlic has medicinal properties and decide to feed it to Harold as a cure for his imaginary peanut butter curse. However, they end up feeding him too much garlic, and Harold becomes incredibly strong and confident.
Harold's newfound strength leads him to become overzealous, and he decides to take on a group of bullies at the park. He challenges them to a physical competition, including a tug of war, to prove that he's the strongest dog in the neighborhood. Harold's confidence quickly fades, and he realizes he's no match for the bullies. Luckily, Bunnicula, who was initially hesitant about getting involved, swoops in to help.
Bunnicula inadvertently uses his vampire powers to help Harold defeat the bullies, and the three friends celebrate their victory. Meanwhile, Mrs. Varney is frustrated that her precious garlic isn't being put to better use by the trio. She decides to sneak into their apartment to retrieve her garlic but instead finds herself trapped in a closet. The episode ends with the trio discovering her in the morning and realizing that they should probably return her garlic.
Overall, "Garlicked" is a fun and action-packed episode that provides a fresh take on the vampire genre. It's entertaining for both kids and adults, and the animation and voice acting are top-notch. The episode also highlights the importance of friendship and teamwork, making it a great choice for family viewing.
