Ep 5. 8 Ball Bunny / Water, Water Every Hare
- July 8, 1950
In season 1 episode 5 of Bugs Bunny and Friends, viewers are treated to two classic Looney Tunes shorts: "8 Ball Bunny" and "Water, Water Every Hare."
In "8 Ball Bunny," Bugs finds himself stranded in the middle of the desert with nothing but a pool table and an eager young penguin named "Smoky" for company. Out of pity, Bugs decides to bring the pint-sized bird along with him as he tries to hitch a ride to Pismo Beach. Of course, their journey is far from easy, as they have to contend with bullies, awkward hitchhiking encounters, and the scorching hot sun. Meanwhile, Smoky's love for playing pool puts both of them in hot water when they accidentally anger a local pool shark.
In "Water, Water Every Hare," Bugs once again finds himself in a sticky situation when he makes the mistake of digging a well for a thirsty Doberman Pinscher. Before he knows it, a horde of other animals descend upon the newly created water source, leaving poor Bugs without a drop to drink. Forced to use his wits, Bugs eventually devises a plan to create a replica of the well - complete with fake water - in order to trick the other animals and keep the real water to himself. As always, hilarity ensues as Bugs outwits each and every one of his opponents.
Both of these classic shorts are emblematic of the Looney Tunes style that has captivated audiences for decades: silly, irreverent, and always surprising. From Bugs' quick wit to the absurd situations he finds himself in, viewers of all ages are sure to be entertained by the antics of Bugs Bunny and his friends.
