Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 5 episode 15 titled "I Was Made to Love You" depicts the story of a young college student named Warren, who creates a robot girlfriend named April. Meanwhile, Buffy struggles to deal with the sudden appearance of Glory and her impending threat to the world.
The episode opens with Warren buying a present for his girlfriend, April. However, he soon discovers that she has been waiting for him for several hours, unbeknownst to him. April details that she has been waiting for him all day, and this leads him to vent to his friends about his relationship troubles. He reveals to them that April is a robot, whom he had designed to be the perfect girlfriend. However, he now feels overshadowed by her devotion to him.
The next day, Buffy realizes that Glory is after her sister, Dawn. Buffy and her friends devise a plan to keep Dawn safe, but they soon realize that Glory has more power than they anticipated. While this is happening, Warren continues to debate with his friends about his robot girlfriend and how he can break up with her. They encourage him to end things, leading him to destroy April's circuit board. However, later that day, April returns to Warren, revealing that her software updates make her the ideal girlfriend. She professes her love for him, and he realizes his mistake, leading him to reconcile with her.
The episode then shifts back to Buffy, who has been struggling to protect Dawn from Glory. Her plan to keep Dawn hidden falls through, and she is forced to confront Glory without any backup. In a last-ditch effort to save her sister, Buffy takes a leap of faith and jumps from a tall tower. Buffy believes that by dying, it would unleash a spell that would render the key useless, thus saving the world from Glory. However, she is surprised when she is caught midair by a group of knights led by the Watcher's Council.
The episode concludes with Warren realizing that his relationship with April is doomed, and she soon self-destructs after realizing that Warren never loved her. Buffy, on the other hand, rekindles her relationship with Spike, even though she is now aware that he has been seeing someone else. The episode ends with our protagonist and her team preparing for a major showdown with Glory.
