In the season 6 episode 18 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine titled "Suicide Squad," things take an unexpected turn as Captain Holt assigns Jake and Terry to lead a team of convicts, some of whom are known for their notorious actions in the past, on a mission to catch a group of bank robbers. Dubbed the “Suicide Squad,” the team comprises of Neptune, Bob Annderson, Caleb and Jack Danger, who are all serving life sentences.
As the team sets out on their mission, things start to get complicated. Neptune, who is known for his ability to escape prison, tries to ditch the group and make a run for it. However, Terry manages to catch him before he can get away. Bob Anderson, who is serving a sentence for robbing a bank, is also having a hard time controlling his urge to steal. He repeatedly tries to steal things from the heist location, which causes Jake to lose his cool.
The mission takes an even more dramatic turn when the team runs into the SWAT team who are there to take down the bank robbers. In a chaotic turn of events, the Suicide Squad gets caught in the crossfire, and one of the members gets shot. This tragic event adds to the already heightened tensions within the team, making their already difficult task even more challenging.
As the episode progresses, we see the Suicide Squad slowly but surely coming together to work as a team. They use their individual strengths and skills to catch the bank robbers, and in doing so, they manage to earn the respect of Captain Holt and their fellow officers. Not only do they catch the bank robbers, but they also manage to save the life of one of their team members, who was gravely injured during the mission.
Throughout the episode, we see the characters go through a range of emotions, from frustration and anger to hope and triumph. The performances are spot-on, and each actor manages to bring their own unique touch to their character.
Overall, "Suicide Squad" is a thrilling and entertaining episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It takes the show in a new direction, giving us a glimpse into the lives of those who are locked up behind bars.
