The second season of Breaking Bad picks up right where the first season left off. Episode one, "Seven Thirty-Seven", opens with a close-up of a pink teddy bear floating in a swimming pool. The camera then pans out to reveal that the pool is located in the backyard of a well-manicured suburban home.

Inside the home, we see our protagonist, Walter White, passed out on the floor with a gun laying next to him. We then cut to the hospital where Jesse Pinkman is being treated for his injuries sustained in the season one finale.

The episode takes place over the course of a day, from 7:37 am to 7:37 pm. The narrative is broken up into several different storylines that eventually converge at the end of the episode.

Walter is grappling with the aftermath of his decision to become a meth manufacturer. His wife, Skyler, has become suspicious of his behavior and is attempting to confront him about it. Meanwhile, his brother-in-law, Hank, who happens to be a DEA agent, is also hot on his trail.

Jesse is dealing with his own issues. He's still mourning the death of his girlfriend, Jane, and is struggling to stay clean. He's also being hunted by two drug dealers who are looking for revenge after Walt killed their friend in the season one finale.

Throughout the episode, we see a series of flashbacks that give us more background on the pink teddy bear that was floating in the pool at the beginning of the episode. We see that it was on a plane that crashed over Albuquerque and that it's likely connected to something that will happen later in the season.

As the day progresses, the storylines begin to intersect. Jesse agrees to meet with the drug dealers who are after him, but he has a plan up his sleeve. Walt, realizing that he's in danger, attempts to flee the city. Skyler, after discovering that Walt lied to her about his whereabouts, decides to involve Hank in the situation.

The episode's climax is a tense and action-packed sequence that sees Walt narrowly avoid being caught by the drug dealers. Jesse's plan to get the upper hand on them goes awry, and the episode ends on a cliffhanger that leaves viewers excited for what's to come.

Overall, "Seven Thirty-Seven" is a thrilling and well-crafted episode that sets the stage for the rest of the season. While there's plenty of action and suspense, the episode also takes time to develop its characters and explore their motivations. It's a great start to what's sure to be another excellent season of television.
