Ep 2. Cyranosaurus Rex / To the Moon, Whiskers
- August 21, 2004
In season 1 episode 2 of Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, titled "Cyranosaurus Rex / To the Moon, Whiskers," the lovable duo finds themselves in two unique adventures.
In the first half of the episode, "Cyranosaurus Rex," Brandy and Mr. Whiskers stumble upon a theatrical production rehearsal. Mr. Whiskers is fascinated by the costumes, but Brandy quickly dismisses the idea of theater as a waste of time. However, when the male lead actor is unable to perform due to a cold, the director offers Brandy the role. Excited at the prospect of being in the spotlight, Brandy eagerly accepts, but soon realizes that the role requires her to perform with a fake nose, similar to the protagonist in the play "Cyrano de Bergerac." Brandy initially struggles with the large nose, but as she gains confidence, she begins to shine in the role. Meanwhile, Mr. Whiskers encourages the lead actor, who feels insecure about his cold and inability to perform, to stand in as the rear end of a dinosaur costume. In the end, both characters discover the value of trying new things and stepping out of their comfort zones.
In the second half of the episode, "To the Moon, Whiskers," Brandy and Mr. Whiskers accidentally launch a rocket into space. As they fly through space, they come across various obstacles, such as asteroids and a black hole. Despite their fear, they remain determined to return home safely. Eventually, they land on the moon, where they must find a way back to Earth. Along the way, they encounter some friendly moon aliens who help them build a spacecraft. In the end, they triumphantly return to Earth, grateful for their harrowing but ultimately rewarding journey.
Overall, "Cyranosaurus Rex / To the Moon, Whiskers" showcases the playful and adventurous nature of the show's protagonists, and emphasizes the importance of trying new things and facing fears head-on.
