Richard Richard and Eddie Hitler return in season 2 of the popular British comedy, Bottom, with their signature crude humor and outrageous antics. In the second episode of the season, titled "Culture," the duo attempts to escape their mundane existence by attending a high-end theater production.
Richard is determined to impress his date, while Eddie is mainly interested in getting drunk and causing a scene. However, their plans quickly go awry when they realize they're the only ones in the audience and that the performance has been canceled.
Undeterred, the pair take it upon themselves to become the stars of their own show. They create their own, highly unconventional interpretation of Shakespeare's classic play, "Hamlet," with Eddie taking on the titular role and Richard directing and playing multiple characters.
As they stumble their way through their version of the play, they manage to offend and disgust everyone in their path, including the few audience members who do manage to show up. With crude humor, vulgar language, and a complete disregard for propriety, Richard and Eddie manage to turn the theater into their own personal circus.
As the evening progresses, things get increasingly out of control, with Richard and Eddie careening towards disaster at breakneck speed. But even as everything around them falls apart, the duo remains steadfast in their commitment to creating the most memorable theatrical experience possible.
By the end of the episode, Richard and Eddie's interpretation of "Hamlet" has become a spectacle unlike anything anyone has ever seen. It may not have been high-brow or tasteful, but it was certainly one for the ages.
Overall, "Culture" is a hilarious and outrageous episode of Bottom that showcases the comedic talents of its two stars. With its irreverent humor and complete disregard for any sense of decorum, it's sure to leave audiences laughing out loud from beginning to end.
