Ep 2. Gas

Richard Richard and Eddie Hitler are back in Bottom season 1 episode 2 titled Gas. The episode opens with the twosome complaining about their lack of food and money. Richard is in charge of cooking their measly dinner, which consists of a tin of sardines, and he accidentally burns their only saucepan. The duo decides to head to the local gas showroom to try and steal a gas cooker. However, their attempts at theft are thwarted by the salesman and the police.

As they leave the gas showroom, the two manage to stumble upon a hidden stash of cash. They think their luck has finally changed, but things quickly unravel when they realize the cash belongs to some dangerous criminals. The rest of the episode follows Richard and Eddie's attempts to return the money, avoid being killed by the criminals, and ultimately try to find a way to make some money for themselves.

Throughout the episode, the duo gets into various awkward and comedic situations as they try to navigate their way out of trouble. At one point, they even dress up as women to try and get away from the criminals, but their disguises ultimately fail them.

The episode showcases the dynamic between Richard and Eddie as they bicker and argue but ultimately rely on each other in times of need. It also highlights their desperate attempts to get by in life and their lack of success in doing so.

Gas is a classic episode of Bottom that showcases the absurdity and humor that has made the show a cult classic. With its slapstick humor and hilarious gags, it is sure to keep viewers laughing from start to finish.
