Alan Shore and Denny Crane are defending a man who has been accused of murdering his girlfriend, a famous pop star. As they prepare for trial, they discover that the victim was actually a transvestite, and the defendant was unaware of this fact.
As they attempt to spin the case in their client's favor, Alan and Denny find themselves at odds with the victim's wealthy father, who is seeking revenge for his daughter's death. Meanwhile, Shirley Schmidt deals with a client who is convinced that her husband is plotting to kill her, and Jerry Espenson struggles to come to terms with the fact that he has Asperger's syndrome.
Throughout the episode, the characters grapple with themes of gender identity, love, and the morality of justice. As always, Boston Legal balances humor and drama, tackling weighty issues with a deft touch. Will Alan and Denny be able to clear their client's name? What will happen to the troubled woman who fears for her life? Tune in to find out in "Guise 'n Dolls."
