Alan Shore and Denny Crane urgently take up the case of a judge who is accused of operating a secretive website where the users post legal decisions, information and views. The judge who was supposed to preside over the case of a little girl who has been taken away from her father's care and put up for adoption is now in danger of losing his own job as he may have been outed as the man who's been posting about cases he's been presiding over on the website.
The case quickly unravels to reveal some bizarre details about the judge's past and present, including his obsession with a woman on the jury, his sexual preferences, and his unusual skills, and the implications for not just him but also the judicial system.
Meanwhile, Shirley Schmidt deals with personal issues when her ex-husband visits her to gain her support in obtaining custody of their son. However, she finds herself wrestling with the decision between personal loyalty to her ex-husband and professional betrayal of her client, Denny Crane.
Elsewhere, Jerry Espenson offers to help Katie Lloyd with a tax issue but ends up discovering her unorthodox means of keeping track of her finances.
The episode culminates with surprises in court and crucial outcomes that change the lives of the accused and the people around them. In the end, everyone, including the viewers, is left to question what true justice really means.
