Boruto: Naruto Next Generations season 1 episode 51, titled "Boruto's Birthday," celebrates the birthday of the young protagonist Boruto Uzumaki. As the episode opens, Boruto is seen waking up in his bedroom to find that he has received several birthday gifts from his family and friends. However, Boruto's mood is soured when he sees an empty space on his bookshelf where Naruto's gift usually goes.
It soon becomes apparent that Naruto, who is currently the Hokage of the village, has been too busy to celebrate Boruto's birthday with him. Boruto becomes increasingly frustrated and decides to confront his father at work. When he arrives at Naruto's office, Boruto is shocked to find his father being attacked by a group of people. After a battle, Naruto is ultimately saved by his son and a few of his friends.
Boruto is, understandably, angry with his father for missing his birthday and for putting himself in harm's way on such an important day. Naruto begins to explain that his duties as Hokage are very demanding, but Boruto refuses to listen. The two get into an argument, and Naruto dismisses Boruto and scolds him for being disrespectful.
Feeling upset and alone, Boruto decides to leave the village for a while, hoping to clear his head and gain some perspective. He heads to a nearby hot spring with some other young ninja, hoping to relax and take his mind off his troubles. However, even here, Boruto is unable to escape his problems.
As the group is sitting in the hot spring, they notice a shadowy figure creeping closer to them. The figure, it turns out, is a new enemy who has come to attack the village. Boruto and his friends immediately leap into action, relying on their ninja skills to protect themselves and the village.
Throughout the episode, we see a number of flashbacks to previous birthdays and important moments in Boruto's life. These provide some context for the character's current emotional state and suggest that his feelings of neglect go beyond just this one missed birthday.
"Boruto's Birthday" is an emotionally charged episode that deals with some serious themes, including the difficulties of balancing work and family responsibilities and the importance of communication between parents and children. Despite its serious tone, the episode also has its fair share of action and exciting ninja battles, making it an engaging and entertaining installment in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series.
