Boruto: Naruto Next Generations season 1 episode 2, titled "The Hokage's Son!", follows the young ninja Boruto Uzumaki and his father, the Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki. After the intense events of the first episode, Boruto is struggling with his studies at the ninja academy and his relationship with his father, who is often busy with his duties as Hokage.
The episode opens with Boruto oversleeping and rushing to get ready for school. As he rushes out the door, his mother Hinata reminds him to apologize to the Hokage for what happened the day before. Boruto brushes her off and heads to class, where he and his classmates are introduced to their new teacher Shino Aburame.
In class, Boruto is distracted and unfocused, leading Shino to call him out and embarrass him in front of the class. Boruto's classmates, including the talented Sarada Uchiha and the laid-back Shikadai Nara, are also struggling with their studies. Shino assigns the class a new mission to collect samples of rare plants on a nearby mountain.
As Boruto and his classmates head out on their mission, they encounter a group of bullies from another village. The bullies, led by a boy named Tento, challenge the Konoha ninja to a fight, but Boruto and his friends are able to defeat them with their skills and teamwork.
After the fight, Boruto and his friends learn that Tento is the son of a wealthy businessman who is visiting the village to do business with the Hokage. Tento reveals that he wants to become a ninja, but his father disapproves of his dream. Boruto sympathizes with Tento's situation, as he himself has a strained relationship with his father.
The group reaches the mountain, where they encounter fierce winds and dangerous terrain. Boruto, Sarada, and another student named Mitsuki get separated from the rest of the group, and they come across a strange cave with mysterious drawings on the walls.
As they investigate the cave, they are attacked by a powerful enemy. Boruto and his friends use their combined skills to defeat the enemy, but not before a shocking revelation is made about the mysterious cave.
The episode ends with Boruto and his friends returning to the village with their treasure trove of rare plants. Boruto's relationship with his father remains strained, but he begins to understand the importance of hard work and perseverance in becoming a ninja.
Overall, "The Hokage's Son!" is a fun and action-packed episode that further explores Boruto's character and relationships with his classmates and family. The episode also sets up several mysteries and plot threads that will no doubt be explored in future episodes.
