The fifth episode of the first season of "Bones" is titled "A Boy in a Bush." The episode starts with the discovery of a body in a park. The body is found by a group of children who were playing in the park. Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan, a forensic anthropologist, and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth are called to the scene. Booth is in charge of the investigation, and Brennan assists him in identifying the victim's remains and determining the cause of death.

The victim is a young boy, and he appears to have been left in the park for some time before he was discovered. Booth and Brennan visit the boy's family to try and get information about him and how he might have ended up in the park. The family is not very forthcoming, and they seem to be hiding something. Booth and Brennan get the impression that the family might be involved in the boy's death.

Brennan conducts a thorough examination of the boy's remains and finds evidence of abuse. The boy had suffered from a lot of physical trauma in his short life. Brennan and Booth start questioning people in the area, trying to find out more about the boy and how he might have ended up in the park. They soon discover that the boy's father had been abusive and had a history of violence.

The investigation leads Booth and Brennan to a shelter for abused women and children. They discover that the boy's mother had been staying there with her children, but had left abruptly a few weeks prior to the boy's body being found. The shelter's director is uncooperative and hostile towards Booth and Brennan, but they manage to find information that leads them to the boy's mother.

When they track down the mother, they find out that she had left the shelter to protect her children from her abusive husband. She had left with the boy but had left him in the park while she went to find a place to hide. While she was away, her husband found the boy and killed him. She had been too afraid to report it to the police.

Booth and Brennan are able to arrest the boy's father for the murder and put him behind bars. The episode ends with Brennan reflecting on the difficulty of the case and how it highlighted the harsh realities of child abuse.

Overall, "A Boy in a Bush" is a heartbreaking episode that deals with the difficult subject of child abuse. The investigation is well done and the case is resolved in a satisfying way. The episode highlights the importance of community awareness and reporting abuse to prevent tragedy.
